Music, Art, Gym: Mrs. Nancy Mickey

Mrs. Mickey has taught at St Thomas School for almost 20 years. She currently offers instruction in music, art, and physical education to all of our students, and also teaches religion for PreK4 and up. Formerly Mrs. Mickey taught General Music and Choral Music at Bedford Middle School and was Band director at Bedford High School and Chestnut Ridge Middle/High School in the past.

Mrs. Mickey is a 1975 graduate of Bedford High School where she graduated in the top ten of her Senior Class. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education from Indiana University of PA in 1979 where she graduated Magna Cum Laude.

Mrs. Mickey resides in Bedford with her husband of 38 years, Timothy, along with 2 dogs and 4 cats. She has two daughters, Erin, and Laura who is married to Jeffrey Saporito.

Mrs. Mickey has been Church organist for St. Thomas parish for about 42 years starting when she was still in high school. She has been the choir director at St. Thomas for more than 35 years. Mrs. Mickey has served as Chairperson for Daffodil Days for the American Cancer Society, as a Board member for the Pennsylvania Consort and as a Girl Scout Leader in the Bedford area.

Mrs. Mickey enjoys dancing, theater and anything musical. She writes most of the scripts for the school plays and programs. She also designs the scenery, costumes and do the choreography. She also teaches instrumental, piano and guitar lessons.
